What does "10 foot" mean on a paver?
10-foot pavers have a screed that lays a base width of 10 feet (about 3 meters). Most can extend with hydraulic or bolt-on extensions to wider widths — typically 12-19 feet depending on model.
What's the difference between a track paver and a rubber-tired paver?
Track pavers run on continuous steel/rubber tracks, giving them better grip on soft or uneven base material. They're standard for highway work, large parking lots, and any job where the underlying surface isn't paved yet.
Rubber-tired pavers ride on wheels, move faster between job sites, and leave less marking on finished asphalt. They're common for driveways, urban work, and patching where mobility matters more than grip.
What should I look for in a used paver?
Documented hours, screed condition (heat circuits, end gates, augers, crown adjustment), conveyor wear, hydraulic leaks, and any service records. For tracked units, also check the undercarriage — rebuilds run thousands of dollars. We share all of this for every unit we list.

10' tracked pavers handle a 10–16' screed range and are the standard for two-lane highway work. Same inspection priorities as the 8' platform — undercarriage, screed plates, vibrator/tamper — plus the wider extension wings and auger boxes. Mid-life machines (3,000–5,000 hours) from Vögele Super 2100 and Cat AP-1055F lines are commonly available and represent the best balance of capability and value.
